Strange infections

What is it with me (Todd) and getting strange infections? Back in April of this year I had to submit some proof of immunity to a dental clinic, I realized while filling out the paperwork that I had never had the Chickenpox as a kid. I ended up having to get an immunization to the Chickenpox at age 31 since I had never had it before. Two weeks after the first shot, I woke up with red bumps all over my body. It wasn't a bad case, and they say it is rare but possible to get the chickenpox from the shot, so of course I got them and had to deal with that for a week or so.

So now I wake up on the morning of Labor Day with a red and itchy eye. I assumed just tired, or irritated from the sun. As the day goes on it just gets worse, and when I wake up this morning I can barely open it. Turns out I have "pink eye"- what a pain. Now I have to put anitbiotic drops and cream in my eye for a week. What is it with me and strange infections?

Sharing your infection history may not be the best way to win friends. But since we are already friends with you guys I guess we can't back out now....Okay, seriously, that is weird! I think it must be the lack of sleep from Addison's early morning grunting.

Wow! You have really out done yourself with this post hun. It's not enough that I get to look at your blood shot eyes in person but to have it staring at me when I check our blog! I really am sorry about your eye but I hope we don't loose too many friends over this post. To everyone who reads our blog, I will post something soon so every time you check our blog the red eye will not be staring at you.

Not only are they strange infections, but aren't they also typically child infections? Are you getting in touch with your juvenile half? Perhaps you could use these experiences in your interviews, of which I am confident you'll have many. :) Seriously, though, I hope you feel better soon. Eye infections are no fun.

Hey Todd,

I had never heard of pink eye until Eli was about two. Since then, one of the kids has brought home a case of it about once a year, and I have had it three times. Comes with kiddos, I guess. Hope it clears up soon.

Lori, thanks- I am glad to hear that I am not the only adult that gets pink-eye, I was starting to think that I attracted the strange kid illnesses. I am already feeling better this week, the drops and ointment have helped a lot.
